Written to the church in Rome around A.D. 57, Paul longed to visit them and strengthen their faith. He wrote to<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"703\">\n<li data-start=\"513\" data-end=\"577\">\n<p data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"577\">unify Jewish and Gentile believers under the grace of Christ<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"578\" data-end=\"633\">\n<p data-start=\"580\" data-end=\"633\">show that salvation is by <strong data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"621\">faith alone<\/strong>\u2014not works<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"634\" data-end=\"703\">\n<p data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"703\">explain God\u2019s plan of redemption and how we live transformed lives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"869\">Romans is often called <em data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"765\">the cathedral of Christian doctrine<\/em> because it lays the foundation for understanding sin, grace, justification, and the life of the Spirit.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"922\">Key Points for Study &amp; Prayer \u2013 Romans 1<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"963\">As we begin, meditate on these truths:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"1364\">\n<li data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"1074\">\n<p data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1074\"><strong data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"988\">God\u2019s Gospel Power<\/strong> \u2013 <em data-start=\"991\" data-end=\"1065\">\u201cThe gospel\u2026is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.\u201d<\/em> (1:16)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1153\">\n<p data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1153\"><strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1103\">Righteousness by Faith<\/strong> \u2013 <em data-start=\"1106\" data-end=\"1144\">\u201cThe righteous shall live by faith.\u201d<\/em> (1:17)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1154\" data-end=\"1270\">\n<p data-start=\"1156\" data-end=\"1270\"><strong data-start=\"1156\" data-end=\"1174\">Reality of Sin<\/strong> \u2013 Paul describes how humanity suppresses truth and exchanges God\u2019s glory for idols (1:18-23).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1271\" data-end=\"1364\">\n<p data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1364\"><strong data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1294\">Call to Surrender<\/strong> \u2013 Pray for soft hearts to repent, believe, and walk boldly in Christ.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1371\" data-end=\"1535\">Let\u2019s gather with open Bibles and expectant hearts as we begin this journey through Romans together. <strong data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1535\">Iron sharpens iron\u2014let\u2019s grow stronger in Christ this year!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brothers,Welcome to a new year of fellowship and growth in God\u2019s Word!
